The test provides you with an accurate, convenient, and inexpensive way to discover your own TSH level. The amount of TSH present is directly related to both hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) and hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). Blood Test at Home's Thyroid Test measures the level of TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) in the blood. This test will help you and your healthcare provider identify and/or monitor an underactive or overactive thyroid condition. Symptoms of a possible thyroid condition include: unexplained weight gain; fatigue; dry skin; heart palpitations; sensitivity to heat or cold; inability to lose weight; depression; hair loss; and insomnia. The specimen collection process is quick, easy and virtually painless. Using the special lancet (included in the Blood Collection Kit), a couple of drops of blood are taken from a nick of a finger and deposited onto a special collection card. The card is then sent to our CLIA Laboratory for analysis. Our Laboratory tests your blood sample to see how much TSH is present and then mails the results back to you in an easy-to-read, understandable report.
